Somewear Global Hotspot
This was almost a whole semester long project that started as designing two trade show booths for a brand of our limited choosing. Each brand came with its own needs and goals for their booth. In this case that included video promotion, giveaway merch, and overall brand awareness. Somewear labs is an outdoor brand that creates hotspots and comptuer systems that are meant to be used completely off grid by adventurers and rescue teams.
These two booths are meant to be a more immersive experience that brings the feeling of an outdoor adventure to the trade space. While the merch, instagram posts and packaging contribute to the brands look and feel. Both the large custom, and small prefab expo booths incorporate the same designs. The topographic map pattern on the walls and desks, shelves for product and merch display, and screens for action shots, product demos and testimonials.
Expo Spaces
Instagram Posts
AS an expansion of the expo spaces I created a few instagram posts for the Somewear brand focusing again on their hotspot product. They have great brand images and combining those with the recognizable logo shape and the topographic map lines creates very cohesive social media posts. Adding a quick, catchy and memorable tagline ties it all together in these instagram posts.
Product Packaging
Updating this brands packaging was a must. The original packaging was a small cardboard box with their logo on it. Instead I created a smaller more contained package that fits the brand. Including the brands graphics and a small informational paragraph on the back of the package. These packages do a much better job at telling the products story at first glance.
Title Card Motion Graphic
Although motion graphics was a separate class, our project was to create a short title card sequence for a product. I chose for the Somewear brand as a the sequence that would play on screen in the expo booths. The requirements were to have moving text that was timed to music. Simple but efficient, this sequence gives the sense of adventure Somwears target demographic would be looking for.
